The Deyns are talented aren’t they. It seems Agyness’ designer sister has snagged a deal with Uniqlo to design a range of tanks and T-shirts featuring Polaroid photos of her famous sis and favourite activities, which will go on sale today!
Emily first sprang to notice when she designed a T-shirt, featuring the Queen. When Agy was spotted backstage at New York Fashion Week wearing the tee, it seems everyone wanted one. Keep your eyes on www.uniqlo.co.uk for more updates.
Yesterday, eBay launched their new site dedicated to fashion. It was created to separate average eBay users from just those who are interested in fashion. You can find it at fashion.ebay.com. It’s easier to browse, and they’ve also added a gallery feature. They’ve stated that there will be more emphasis on affordable high fashion as well. Go and have a look for yourself and see what all the fuss is about!
The Italian luxury brand collaborates with music’s it-boy on a line of trainers as Gucci prepares to open its Icon-Temporary shop in London. Mark Ronson’s passion for vintage fashion has led the music producer to design his first collection of trainers for the label and The Gucci Ronson designs, a collaborative effort by Ronson and Frida Giannini, are the highlight of the show.
“From the moment Mark and I started talking about this project we connected. He has a great eye for design and an amazing knowledge of sneaker history. He is an artist whose influence is cross-cultural and cross-generational”.
First it was blockbuster films, then it was top-of-the-table football clashes on TV, and now fashion is the next area to join the 3D revolution.
But rather than a world-famous label taking the catwalk into another dimension, it is a 24-year-old student at Edinburgh College of Art (ECA) leading the way with the world’s first range of 3D clothing.
Inspired by the growth of 3D technology used in films such as Avatar, Glasgow-born Charlotte Helyar has created dresses and tops that come alive, change shape, and move when viewed through special glasses.
To be honest, I’m quite surprised this hasn’t been done earlier. It is the future of fashion. Body shapes, dimensions and fabrics make fashion the perfect playground for 3D technology. Perhaps we will see more designers follow suit, because a John Galliano 3D Couture collection is bound to get tongues wagging!
Another example of online going in-store..
Could this be a backlash towards the virtual revolution or just a bit of fun? (Discuss in our forum!)
